This week, we feature the first of a two-part interview with vocalist Dara Tucker. The Green Hill recording artist recently released the album, “Dreams of Waking: Music for a Better World.” Earlier this summer, Dara and her husband, Greg Bryant, visited with Jay Daniels at our Simply Timeless Kitchen Studios in Harlem. Our lunch conversation explored a number of topics including social justice and the inequities that exist for people of color. We’ll cover more of those topics in part two of the interview. For this week, we explore Dara’s journey from her beginnings in Oklahoma… to meeting her husband Greg in Nashville… and their eventual move to just outside New York City in Newark, New Jersey. We start at the beginning with her family in Tulsa, Oklahoma. More at daratucker.net.
