Last year, vocalist and composer, Clifton Davis, teamed up with our dear friend, Beegie Adair to produce an album centered around a song he originally composed in the late 60s. That song, of course, is “Never Can Say Goodbye.” It was a chart-topping hit for the Jackson 5, and it’s been given new life by Clifton and the Beegie Adair Trio with special guests Monica Ramey and Take 6. During the interview, you’ll hear some of the musical stories from the road as shared by Clifton and Beegie, but we begin with the inspiration behind the song itself.
