In the late 50s and early 60s, the sounds of the bossa nova were starting to take shape in Brazil. It was the marriage of the Brazilian samba and American jazz. The result were timeless works from composers like Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, Luiz Bonfa, and others. The tradition of the bossa nova continues through vocalist Daniela Soledade. Her family was instrumental in working with some of those composers we just mentioned. Recently, Daniela collaborated with guitarist Nate Najar for her debut album, “A Moment of You.” The two were gracious enough to join us recently from Daniela’s home in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
