Several months ago, we were introduced to the sounds of trumpeter James Suggs. While he’s a native of central Pennsylvania, his musical journey has taken him around the world with stops in Ohio, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. James now calls Saint Petersburg, Florida, home. His debut project as a leader was produced in collaboration with saxophonist, Houston Person. The name of the album is “You’re Gonna Hear from Me.” This week, we’re going to hear from James as he shares the story of his life in music from his early years in band to his work with the legacy orchestras of Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller.
