In Studio with Jay Daniels: Joe Negri
Recently, the beloved children’s program, “Mister Rogers Neighborhood” celebrated its 50th anniversary. Hosted by Fred Rogers, the show continues to make an indelible impact upon children and adults all around the world. Music was also an integral part of the Neighborhood… Fred wrote many of the songs, and they were performed by artists like pianist Johnny Costa and today’s In Studio guest… Joe Negri. You might remember him as “Handyman Negri” from the Neighborhood. Jay Daniels recently spoke with Mr. Negri recently by phone. During that conversation, they talked about his musical upbringing in Pittsburgh along with stories from his early career and time on Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood.
