Early this year, jazz vocalist Robin McKelle shared a new album with us. It’s called “Alterations,” and it features her interpretations of songs made popular by women like “Jolene” from Dolly Parton, “Back to Black” from Amy Winehouse, and “Rolling in the Deep” from Adele. In this special interview, Jay asks Robin about the special relationship between modern pop music and jazz. You’ll also hear her thoughts on how she hopes these recordings will impact her listeners.
